A Case of Cerebral Infarction following Epidural anesthesia -Case report-

Abstract
This report describes a case of cerebral infarction following epidural anesthesia. Perioperative cerebral infarction occurs in less than 1% of general surgical procedure: the mechanism is usually unknown. But the potential for serious sequelae is
great.
A 77-year-old female patient slipped down and received right femur supracondylar fracture. She was not medicated for diabetes mellitus. Her ECG finding was inferolateral wall ischemia. She underwent open reduction and internal fixation with blade
plate
& screws under epidural anesthesia. Postoperative, she became deep drowsy and revealed high BP and abnormal neurological signs. After apporximately 3 hrs in the recovery room, she was diagnosed as diagnosed as acute cerebral infarction on cranial
computed tomography and ultimately expired.
